tea bag....

delicate; fragile'ness of mediocure translucency....

oh how i love working on you.

you present a whole 'nother layer of creative issues to contend with. 

• remove itsy-bitsy staple to open bag- check
• very carefully opened the bag to remove the tea without completely destroying bag- check
• gesso bag without tearing- no check; tear one huge hole and another small hole- drat
• use masking tape to repair- check
• glue down collage- mostly check; did require additional gluing

i am working on some projects that can't be completely shared as of yet....but, i couldn't take not sharing this corner- i just love it!

i taught a collage class this past saturday and wanted to have collage samples of exactly what i was talking about. the types of paper, the purpose behind the paper selection, and at least a few options of other things to do with your collage.

doesn't it feel good to cut paper?.....jagged cut, sure. sharp cornered edge, maybe. flat side, probably.

(i had an overwhelming feeling that i needed to add the pencil- it was just all too neat.)

teaching.....

this was the face yesterday after arriving and getting things ready to teach a painting project last night at the country club to a group of ladies.....totally regretting saying yes. thank goodness i had asked my mom to teach along side me!

the group had requested a golf theme- which initially had me a bit befuddled....but, with a good concept and some practice and pre-planning- our plan worked like a charm. we would show the students how to paint their background and then, collage their golfer and bag.

the group ended up smaller then the initial numbers, but, that was just as well- we were all busy last night.

here they are working like busy beavers on their paintings and collage. 

painting, cutting, gluing.....

they all did a fabulous job!

once the piece was done- we had each student sign their painting and framed it so it was ready to hang and display when they left. the group was fabulous! they were energetic and enthusiastic and tackled the project with gusto!

when we were all done teaching- there was left over dessert....and my mom and i were happy to partake in this fabulous cake!

and we survived!!! and i can't even begin to thank my mom enough for her willingness to help me! this would not have been the success it was without her! thank you, thank you Mom!

1x2 smalls

still working on "smalls." this time it is 1" x 2" rectangles. decided to go back to my roots and go with collage for these guys. my 3x3 square i had done last week was a disaster.....

i used ephemera paper scraps on my desk area.

and some paper that had been scraped off of other projects- like this absolutely wonderful purple piece.
