proof that anything can be saved....

every have one of those days when your mood is just scribbles?...... this was how i felt on monday. just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and couldn't get out of my own way......

but, that night i went to the studio again and looked at that card and thought, you know- what this needs is a good stencil.

and poof.

proof that anything can be saved with a good stencil and some paint. even the very, very overworked.

need a good stencil? be sure to check out stencilgirl

love the peeks of color and the scribbles showing through.

(rolled payne's grey over my stencil)

happy valentine's day!

mix n match postcards

i picked some of my favorite art journal pages and made the pages into postcards.

the postcards are available in 2 different sizes- 6"x 4" or a 5.4"X 4.2".

the postcards have a matte finish and blank backs. the cards are intended to be a "mix and match" so grab a few.

you can use the postcards to send a note or cut the cards, punch a hole and make tags. the cards can be used in any of your mixed media projects.

the colors are playful and you can almost feel the texture on the card.

you can find the postcards in my etsy store.

happy sunday.

cards {collage}

this past weekend i went to my mom's studio and made cards with her and a friend. this was a bit off of my usual card making- i normally gesso and select my first color of acrylic paint.....this however was no gesso.

this was select your paper. now when i say paper- don't think this was a small conservative stack of collage papers; no, no (sorry mom)... this was a huge box full of papers- napkins, gelli- printed deli paper, painted paper scraps, painted yupo, Japanese paper, magazines and just plain cardstock.

happy wednesday.

in a series {cards}

these started out as thank you cards- and by the time i was finished....i was thinking more that this had been a great lesson of doing a series. all the colors are the same and marks are similar, but, each card is just a bit different of course.

tell me which ones are your favorites.

i was thinking of posting these to my etsy store?......let me know.

stacking up the thank yous

i had have a few thank yous that were due and carved out a little time to create some cards to send.

the cards are a pleasant combination of stencils and spray ink with a dab of acrylic paint, some paper scraps on my counter....then, stitched up with some love.

check out my foam crown stamp i made- love it! and really like using it for my signature especially on cards.

 thank you for stopping by! happy tuesday!

graduation pics for invites

i didn't mind this one....i feel like the composition isn't too bad.  #1

this one was too serious?...but, liked the background.  #2
we took quite a few, and this was our favorite due to overall composition. comments and/ or a vote would be appreciated!! #3     because (and sorry mom for starting my sentence with because- she is a retired english teacher and would be so disapointed ;) i don't want his graduation cards to look the same as the usual...i made the invites and decided- you can't have a cool, artsy card with a standard senior pic. so, we gave this a whirl....i wrote on his fingers. his school mascot is the cardinal, thus the "cards". would love to hear your comments....
