i don't know how windy it has been where you live, but, it has been crazy windy here.....all those reds, yellows, and golds are being blown right off of the trees with our 60 mph gusts. i have had to do some traveling recently with work and have been admiring the glorious colors of falls before they are gone.

driving provides my mind with time to wander as i am taking in the colors. i have ideas and concepts whirling around in my head like the leaves blowing around in the streets. some i get down onto paper, but, some whirl around and may keep blowing on down the street. sometimes it is so hard to capture those fleeting thoughts isn't it?

do you have ideas and concepts you have been working on? leave me a comment and let me know.

happy wednesday!

signs of my favorite season....fall

in our backyard, i am finally seeing signs that fall really is coming. our trees are barely turning except for one branch on one of our maples. i  love the red stem and the warm yellow reds of this leaf especially with the contrast of the concrete.

as i looked at the rest of the tree still green and trying desperately to stay that color, the one branch sticking out, working hard at changing colors is easy to spot. i can't help but think that sometimes you  need to be the different one. the one ready for change, just a bit ahead of the curve. my mind is spinning with ideas and "wants" for an occasional sale here in my small town.

i also found one apple i missed on the tree...and noticed the delicate web at the stem. the fragile weaving to allow it to even happen....hoping that all of my pieces may come together as well to weave this "sale" web.

odds and ends

i used a little imagination to see a heart in this piece of rust that i found in the driveway.

i was pulling weeks and noticed the purple speckled leaves. the color is beautiful and i am fairly sure that this is a weed as well, but, because of the color, i am willing to wait just a bit.

i had this angel plant holder and in a storm a few years ago, it was thrown and broke. i kept a few pieces and i love her patina. she is my "ruin" in the front yard.

i apparently have a thing for copper boilers (these two are outside, and i have a few more in the basement....can't have too many) and as i was wandering around taking my pics, i noticed them sitting there patiently waiting for me to notice their patina. these two beauties sit on my front porch.
