mini art journal..... {pocket journal}

Rae Missigman has a new class available called Pocket Journals.

i am already doubting my art journal making abilities.....despite the great lessons provided by Rae.

less water when i paint- that may be helpful; but the class was excellent and will walk you through each step.

i still need to add my outer cover yet, but made loved choosing all the fun papers to use.

still playing along with Rae Missigman's art marks 30 day challenge. this challenge was lines.

tag makin' {new stencils}

i had started making tags out of recycled manilla folders and of course my first folder turned out awesome and i loved it; but, this second one.....well, let's just say-i wasn't feeling the love for this poor thing.......

that is until....my new stencils from Rae Missigman had come this week! i knew when i had first seen the new stencils that i really, really liked them and would have to order at least one....

the folder had turned into a bit of a hot mess, but, the light paint through the new stencil helped pull it back and provide some desperately needed lights and some shaped distraction.

#DLP {gelli plate printing}

this year especially with a senior graduating soon....life has been very busy and hectic; but, i am sneaking time and stealing moments in my studio space as this spring allows.

the last DLP challenge was to use the gelli plate while exploring paint and inks; and who can put that tool down?! i love mine and use it all the time for almost any project from tags and my art journal, to cards and as a paint palette.

here are a couple more pics my pages...

ssssssshhhhhh.......

i am going to share something i made for my sweetie for Christmas but no telling him before hand....

i used some of my hand painted/ dyed fabric and painted our initials on; cut out the squares and stitched together. i also used a stamp from Rae Missigman's new stamp set to stamp the blue flower on top.

i love the pinstriped linen fabric ruffle...and of course the black n white polka dot fabric on the back.

i did some hand stitching to secure the lace doily into place after machine stitching the edges. i also added a few cute, vintage buttons for some additional details and contrasting texture.

to finish it off i had stuffed it and hand stitched the corner with pink thread. i decided to hand stitch all along the bottom to give a smoother edge and finish to my pillow.
