simplicity {art journal}

sometimes the monochromatic simplicity is all that i am capable of. and really, sometimes it is all that is needed.

  • had used this page as a palette; loved the simplicity of the color, with the lights and darks
  • pencil
  • stencil with white paint (stencilgirl)

happy monday.

details

details.

the colors run and pool. collecting in unexpected places; filling those blank spots with color. the collection tells a story all of its' own.

so many stories written, painted and glued.

dreams of sharing. big news will be coming soon.

happy friday.

colorlust {bday card}

total infatuation with these colors

quin nickel azo gold & paynes grey

and the simplicity of the card

mailing off this birthday card with a little something along with a huge care package. so weird that we wont be there on his birthday. weird. i know....not really. he is at college and is supposed to leave home at this age....but, he is the youngest and i am still adjusting.

the whole empty nest is strangely nice at times; and just empty at others.

tag {squared}

when it is hip to be square.... playing along with Roben-Marie's week long tag challenge

Are you playing?

  • thickened notecard (glued two together); cut to square
  • homemade stamp (stacked circles); painted over
  • pencil
  • hi-flow acrylics in various colors
  • stencil (although i was heavy-handed with the paint, and used a water wash to remove some of the paint)
  • sari ribbon

happy short week!
