serendipitous..... {the100dayproject- a video}

so earlier this week i posted that i was going to participate in the 100 day project- but, when i posted that accountability, i really hadn't thought it all the way through- as i really didn't have a plan as to what i was going to do.....

i was thinking maybe tea bags, coffee filters, and maybe just small squares of paper...... but, over Easter our youngest son and i were shopping and i purchased a package of timecards. my son of course, thought i was crazy! why in the world would you buy those? well to make into art of course- i just didn't realize at that time what destiny those timecards would have. 

so when i grabbed the package to head to the studio and start my 100 day project i noted this..... my package of timecards was 100 count.

as soon as i saw that i knew that a little serendipity had occurred, and i had my hands on the right substrate for this 100 day project.

collage squares {video}

i taught a collage class this past saturday and wanted to have collage samples of exactly what i was talking about. the types of paper, the purpose behind the paper selection, and at least a few options of other things to do with your collage.

news...

when i had gotten home from work yesterday i had learned that the very talented Mindy Lacefield had used my stamp in her video post. she used it in a very creative way.......Do you know Mindy? i bet you have seen her girls- always adorable! check out Mindy's blog post and watch her work through her process. LOVED IT!

mini books plus a video

i had gone to a work conference this past week and had an evening with nothing to do....so, i ventured out to the smallest Walmart i have seen and bought supplies. i decided that i would try to truly limit myself and only spend the smallest amount possible (mainly because i have a fully supplied studio at home) but, get what i needed to make a mini book. i spent less than $6 to get my supplies.

i bought:

• plain note cards 3"x5"
• a little note book 3"x5"
• small sewing kit with tiny scissors
• watercolor palette
• 2 pack glue sticks

here is my first mini book that i made that evening using only items i bought that night at Walmart to make this mini book- including the watercolor palette.

when i got home- it was so much fun making that one, that i thought i should make another one and try making video to go along with it explaining my supplies. check out my video here.

grad card with sewing- a video

trying hard to get this whole video thing down....thank goodness i have kids!! once again, they were able to help me get the editing done.

i have had several people ask about the sewing on paper and how it works and if it is hard on the sewing machine- so i thought i would show a demonstration through video.

still working on my video skills and trying to get the hang of this whole filming, editing piece.....

i was working on another tag and had painted it into a mess. i decided i needed to walk away from the tag. so the next day, i thought i would film the process to show that even if you make a mess- you can always find another way to create something that you like.
