truth {canvas with a letter}

truth....even though i told you with my new year's possibilities post that we all do i do- receive rejection letters for submissions.....

i can't lie- when you get one of these "unfortunately" letters, it still feels like a bit of a sucker punch to the gut... you glanced away for a moment and pow- right to the gut.

but, just like i said, this opportunity is a chance to grow. and if you never submit....you will never know. you will never see your work in a magazine or book.

i thought it was so timely for me to have received my piece back after just talking about this with my post. and so, even though i am licking my wounds this morning- this is life. and this is the life of an artist. not everything will be magical.

not everything will be published.

  2. So sorry to hear that Kristin. Life goes on. Creativity goes on. Some publishers / editors just don't know good art when they see it! ♥
    xo Michelle ♥
    by the way, is that a used credit card ( as in all full of paint ♥ ) I see back there ?

    1. Hi Michelle! No- what you see in the background was the piece i had submitted. It was a small 4x4 deep canvas. :) thank you for the support!! greatly appreciated! XO

  3. You put your art out there, THAT counts for a lot! But I also think that publications have a tendency to accept an artist's work when they' seen previous submissions. So continue to submit it.
