and this lovely line drawing girl would become and consume; she would be worked

she would start in watercolor....and would move to gesso and some acrylics

delipaper art

 i had taken additional pics with my phone, but, my computer is not working with me this morning and i cannot get those to download?! (*#@!!) sorry......

i am using a square sheet of deli paper. i did order my pack of deli paper off of Amazon; and there was a variety of shapes and sizes.

i then gesso'd my sheet using an edge of a credit card just like i would for anything else i was working on- paper, canvas, wood, etc. it doesn't have to be perfect and i do not do the whole sheet; most simply the main area of where i will be working.

i then used a stabilo pencil to do the initial face. i also used hi-flow acrylics and regular acrylics. i did use gold ink and charcoal and went back in with the pink pastel when i was very close to being done. i also used just a black ball point pen for some scribbled face line and lip and eye details and a smidge of collage papers.

happy monday.

cardboard portrait {too}

i had so much fun making my first one, i decided to work this into a series. so i made three more portraits. each was a slightly different size and shape with different top paper ripping off to reveal the variegation below.

i used hi-flow acrylics for the eyes; and white pen, charcoal and pencil for some details.

i loved the textured feel of this one and the overall colors.

happy wednesday.

cardboard portrait

in one of my FB group, our challenge this time was to make a portrait on cardboard. i was feeling a little rusty as i have not had much studio time this past month; but, once the gesso was on the paper, the paint flowed and ran, and she appeared.

cardboard, gesso, acrylic paint, pencil, watercolor crayon, hi-flow ink, pen, charcoal

i was very happy with how she turned out. i can only hope my swap partner likes it as much as i do!
