newest works

i am at the "cooking" process again with my large canvas....this time, i think it may very well be a keeper! it has only begun its journey two other times- so, the third time appears to be IT. Here is the progress thus far....

summer kick off

well, it is now official- at least in our little family world....summer. we went to our car show/ swap meet that always signals summer. we got up early and headed up- 3 hours in the car; but, it's always worth it. my organized, ever vigilant husband got some good deals on needed parts; our oldest son learned the trade of bargaining by manning our stuff and selling; our daughter decided tanning was the best thing until she realized she was burned; our youngest son devoted his time to photographing the scene and i was along for the rumble in your chest, the smell of burned rubber, and some awesome looking rides of the dodge, plymouth, and chrysler kind. i did not come home disappointed. nothing like the smell of rear end grease and rubber to get this girls heart pumping. you see the trusty camera guy and his lovely assistant.

evening stroll

i am not sure who is more excited about the blog- me or our boys...they both thought it was sooo cool. each of them helped with a little something- to tell the truth, I couldn't have done some of it without their help.

our youngest thought we needed to take a walk and find something "blog-able" for the post tonight.

so, last night at 9pm we went on a walk to see what we could find, and low and behold.....magic. the pictures posted here tonight are the ones he took- hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking them. a couple of them (seed grass and the king) i thought were spectacular and he was so proud of his photographic ability.

his favorite speech is: "nothing is something because if nothing WASN'T something nothing would not exist." Also it's me the "famous" photographer I'm currently working with my mom to set up this whole project so I feel kinda special if you know what I mean :)

Jumping off...

Well, that was way too easy...like buying your first house, except without all the ink for signing your life away. I am stepping off my secure, safe ledge and into the unknown- hopefully on a most wonderfully creative adventure. Many things have lead to this culmination, and then, the step.

If you have not picked up the second Artful blogging magazine- I highly recommend it!! It is the most interesting display of blogging- many different types and ideas. All of which are totally inspiring in their own way. My magazine is earmarked with the ones I had to check out- that is always how you will know if the magazine was a good one. If the corners are turned- really good! In this addition I found a person with a wonderful sense of life and inspiration. One of the other things I (we- my mom and I) are going to try is the wreck a journal. You had to have a blog to be followed of course. So, we will see how this works...... wreck this journal
